Haywood De Bruyn Attorneys is a young dynamic, progressive and multi-faced legal practice of attorneys committed to rendering comprehensive professional services to broad band individuals, public and corporate clients.

We create and sustain an ideal working environment for our clients by maintaining the infrastructure through the delivery of essential legal advice. We render a service that is personal and individualised. We value our relationship with our clients and have various associations with law firms through out South Africa. Where and whenever necessary our firm enters into strategic alliances with other firms of attorneys on a deal by deal basis to complement our resources.

We consistently provide high quality legal advisory services to clients in order to assist them find both meaningful and practical solutions to their business problems at all times.

Our greatest asset is the fact that being a small boutique firm we are in a position to interact face to face with our clients and maintain personal contact.

We offer a full spectrum of legal expertise and assistance, so that our client enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that they can entrust us with their legal needs in any circumstances. Our expert advice and intervention early in a matter can save time and money. We are adept at managing litigation bearing in mind the commercial interests of our clients and the need to preserve important ongoing relationships.

PEOPLE PROFILES

Jarome Haywood (Attorney/Managing Partner)

Jarome obtained his LLB degree at the University of the Western Cape. He completed the School for Legal Practice at the University of Cape Town. He leads the team as the managing partner. Jarome practice in the area of Commercial Law, Contract Law, Family Law, Wills & Estates, High Court and Magistrates Court Litigation. His academic training and the hands on experience as CEO of numerous companies enables him to understand the practical implications of possible solutions to commercial dilemmas. He is also a part time lecturer at the University of the Free State where he lectures the Law of Banking to Branch Banking Managers. He sits as a chair person for various Non Governmental Organisations and acts as a consultant to various companies.

Gordon De Bruyn (Attorney / Senior Partner)

Gordon obtained his B COM and LLB degrees at the University of the Western Cape. He completed his articles and training at one of the oldest firms in the Somerset West area in Strand. He attended the School for Legal Practice at the University of Cape Town. He specialises in Criminal, Civil, Insurance and Employment Law matters. He has extensive experience in Employment Law matters. He works closely with trade unions, employers organisations and entrepreneurs in embracing the challenges of employment equity legislation, labour training. He acts as commissioner at various forums and has chaired countless disciplinary hearings. He is also an arbitrator at the dispute resolution centres at bargaining councils. He acts on behalf of employees and employers and have won many awards at CCMA/Labour Court level.

Allison Tobias (Practice Manager)

Allison has a B. Com Human Resource as well as a B. Com Honours degree. Her main focus is to manage the staff and the firm. Her experience she has gained over the years includes banking, training as well as consulting on HR issues for various companies. Using these skills she has gained, she has proven to be a valuable asset to our firm as she manages and organises the daily flow of the firm.
